hi, i’m grace!
Wife, mother, & content creator
I’m a mom to two little girls, Margaret and Catherine, and am raising them alongside my high school sweetheart turned husband, Curtis, in the gulf coast town of Bradenton, Florida.
In many ways this has been a long time coming. During my last year of college in 2009, I started a blog after being inspired by so many creative young women doing the same. When I began my time as a high school teacher with Teach For America, blogging became harder to maintain and I let it go by the way side. I missed the outlet for writing, sharing, and creating and always wondered, “What if I’d never stopped?’ I wrestled with self doubt and feelings that it was “too late” since gone were the days of a simple blogspot.com. But after I stepped away from the classroom to be the stay-at-home caregiver for my oldest, I began to more seriously consider giving blogging another chance. It took a while – and many years of my friends patiently listening to me think about it – but 10 years after my first blog post I dusted off the keyboard once again. This time, sharing on Instagram as well.
Three years into the decision,
I’m so grateful to be where I am. I didn’t necessarily know what my content would look like, but since 2019 I’ve covered everything from current events and issues of social justice to reflections on parenting, travel guides, home decor finds, and tablescaping tips. But perhaps more than anything, I enjoy sharing and styling looks with a focus on size inclusive options. Since the early days of blogging, Instagram has profoundly changed the dynamic between the content creator and their audience, making it much easier to have an ongoing, two-way conversation. What a privilege it is to connect with so many lovely women and work together to find clothes for some of life’s biggest events, such as giving one’s son away at a wedding, attending a high school reunion or getting ready for one’s own bridal or baby shower. But whether it’s a special occasion or just a Tuesday trip to the grocery store, I believe that women of all shapes and sizes deserve to feel great when they get dressed.
Thank you for being with me on this journey. My goal is to continue to be a thoughtful resource for women across various stages of life and I hope that when you visit GraceHamlin.com or @gracehamlin that you find what you’re looking for!
